Since 2018, Luke has been assisting Slick on his murals, the work consisting of graphic, clean, large-scale designs. Although Luke’s base of work revolves around reference and rendering, he was more than willing to work with and learn from Slick. Fast-forward to early 2024, after multiple projects together around the world, and with the trust and respect established between the two artists, Slick provided an opportunity for Luke to not just participate as an assistant, but as a collaborator. With Slick’s piece from 2016 "Hand to Hand", (inspired by M.C. Escher’s “Drawing Hands”, 1948), a depiction of two hands drawing each other, Slick had the idea of putting together a new version of the piece that would allow both Slick and Luke to display a clean graphic style combined with a realistic rendering to show the versatility of both artists.
